PLEASE NOTE:
The Ride of Respect Organisation is currently in a transition period with new people taking over the running of the admin/merchandise and rides side of the organisation. Ali Scott who dealt with the majority of this is no longer dealing with it all as she has retired early and moved abroad.
Lynn Angel is taking over from Ali and at the moment just getting au fait with how things work.
Lynn will be dealing with all the admin/emails/merchandise for the Ride of Respect organisation as well as overseeing the Ring of Red Rides and organisers, assisting Julia and organisers of the Lee Rigby Ride but will still have Amanda Wood-Woolley organising and dealing with all aspects of the Ride of Respect Ride.
Please bear with us during this time.
Thank you, and thanks for your continued support in these challenging times!
This is an event for bikers on Remembrance Sunday every year
The next RING OF RED M25 is on Sunday 14th November 2021
The aim is to form a circle of bikers dressed in red riding CLOCKWISE around the M25, all the bikers
making up the biggest Poppy in the World.
The rides are intended to present a physical show of support for our Armed Forces, both current and previous.
Not every biker goes to a remembrance service on this day, but I do know that they Respect our armed service men and women. This is just another way of showing it.
The Ring of Red event was an idea by Julia Stevenson with the Ring of Red M25 being organised by
Ali Scott and assisted by a team of admins and Meeting Point Reps.
PLEASE DONATE TO THE RIDE ONLINE OR AT THE MEETING POINTS
THANK YOU

****START TIMES FROM THE DIFFERENT SERVICES MAY CHANGE SLIGHTLY IF THE AMOUNT OF BIKERS IS LARGER THAN EXPECTED*****
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH FUEL FOR THE LENGTH OF MOTORWAY YOU WISH TO TRAVEL!
YOUR REP WILL INFORM YOU OF YOUR END DESTINATION, YOU WILL BE ON THE MOTORWAY FOR AT LEAST 30-45 MINS TO ENABLE EVERYONE TO GET ONTO THE MOTORWAY AND ATTEMPT TO MAKE UP THE RING!
THE LEAD RIDER IS A BIKER DRESSED IN BLUE HI VIZ AND WILL MAKE THEMSELVES KNOWN
DO NOT OVERTAKE YOUR LEAD RIDERS
THE TAIL END CHARLIE WILL BE IN RED HI VIZ
RIDE IN SINGLE FILE ON THE M25 & DO NOT OVERTAKE THE RIDER IN FRONT
RIDE APPROX 50 MPH
(IT IS SET AT THIS SPEED FOR A REASON - IF YOU RIDE TOO FAST YOU WILL HAVE COMPLETED YOUR RUN BEFORE THE RING HAS BEEN COMPLETED!!)
USE LANE 1 BUT IF SLOWER MOVING TRAFFIC, OVERTAKE IN LANE 2, THEN RETURN TO LANE 1
- TRY TO AVOID USING LANES 3 & 4
YOUR GROUP MAY ENCOUNTER ANOTHER GROUP ALREADY PASSING YOUR POINT OF ENTRY ONTO THE M25 – IF SO FALL INBETWEEN THE BIKES AS BEST AS YOU CAN & THE BIKES ALREADY ON THE MOTORWAY, GIVE WAY TO THE ONCOMING BIKES!!
RIDE APPROX 4 BIKE LENGTHS AWAY FROM THE BIKE IN FRONT
BUT DO NOT RIDE DIRECTLY BEHIND THE BIKE IN FRONT – STAGGER RIDING POSITION
SPREADING OUT WILL HELP US BE ABLE TO LET THE GROUP BEHIND CATCH UP AND HELP US MAKE THE RING
ALLOW OTHER VEHICLES TO JOIN AND LEAVE THE MOTORWAY BY PASSING THROUGH THE LINE OF BIKES
FILTERING - IF YOU COME ACROSS A TRAFFIC JAM OR ROADWORKS - DO NOT FILTER AS OTHER RIDERS MAY NOT BE COMFORTABLE DOING SO, IF YOU DO IT WILL BREAK UP THE RIDE
IF YOU BREAK DOWN - MOVE TO HARD SHOULDER AND SIT AWAY FROM THE CARRIAGEWAY OFF YOUR BIKE AND CALL YOUR BREAKDOWN SERVICES.

THIS IS A RIDE OF RESPECT SO PLEASE RIDE
ACCORDINGLY - thank you!
THE RING OF RED 2020 MONIES RAISED WENT TO THE FOLLOWING CHARITIES:
THE FINAL MONEY TOTAL TO BE DONATED TO 'SOLDIERS OFF THE STREET' IS £3,500 in total (£500 has already been donated out of this total direct)
Sadly with numbers down last year, approx only 1,500 riders, maybe due to others attending the centenary events, we didn't manage as much as we would have liked. We did though along with your generosity, also have a couple of generous donations from two companies:
Segro of Slough (arranged by Geoff Devall) for £500 and Syneos Health, Farnborough (arranged by Ross Farr) for £392, this bumped up the figures for us:
Donations on the Day = £1420-71
Online Donations = £1035-69 (half to go to the M60 ride)
Merchandise donation = £651-60
Donation from Syneos = £392-00
Donation from Segro = £500-00 (already donated to the charity direct)
GRAND TOTAL = £3,500-00
The money will be sent to Soldiers off the Street as soon as possible for them to use to help our veterans in finding much needed homes.
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for all your donations and purchases to the ride which makes this donation possible.
Thank you
