This is an event for bikers on Remembrance Sunday
every year - the 2017 ride will be on
Sunday 12th November
The aim is to form a circle of bikers dressed in red riding CLOCKWISE around the M25, all the bikers
making up the biggest Poppy in the World.
The rides are intended to present a physical show of support for our Armed Forces, both current and previous.
Not every biker goes to a remembrance service on this day, but I do know that they Respect our armed service men and women. This is just another way of showing it.
The Ring of Red event was an idea by Julia Stevenson.
The Ring of Red M25 is now organised by Ali Scott, Luke Eastwood and assisted by a team of admins and Meeting Point Reps.
Details will be posted in the next few days, we are making our last adjustments to the ride logistics - thanks (dated 11/10/2017)

2016 OFFICIAL MEETING POINTS AROUND THE M25
There will be a Rep at each of the Services Meeting Points who will organise the bikers but we do ask ALL participants in this event to read the ‘RIDER INFORMATION’ FOUND BELOW PRIOR TO ATTENDING THE RIDE!!
The aim is to get all the bikers SAFELY from each meeting point onto the M25 so that by 1330 hours
all riders will be riding round the M25 CLOCKWISE and in the process the front riders from one junction meeting with the last riders of the previous junction.
Riders can choose where they get on and get off, THERE IS NO SET ON OR OFF POINT!!!
but so that we can join up all the riders from all the services all riders will need to be on the M25
for at least 30 mins so we can make the ring!
PLEASE AN EVERYONE BE AT THE SERVICES OF THEIR CHOICE BY 1130
& RIDERS WILL BE ADVISED BY THE MEETING POINT REPS THE TIME EVERYONE WILL BE LEAVING TO BE ON THE M25 FOR 1330
TIMES MAY VARY DEPENDING ON WEATHER, AMOUNT OF RIDERS ETC!!
ANYONE WANTING TO JOIN THE M25 FROM ANY OTHER JUNCTION - If there are any other riders who wish to ride onto the M25 from any other junction than listed above, then that is fine, but you are responsible for yourselves, you just need to be on the M25 by 1330. On joining the motorway and find a spot inbetween riders. If you do not see any riders then keep riding to the next junction where hopefully you will meet up with some.
Meeting point reps will identify themselves at each of the Service and will be wearing
GREEN Hi Viz Meeting Point Rep Vests.
Any questions for the Meeting Point Reps, if you are on Facebook go to the links below for the start point you want to go from. If not on facebook, please email the link below.

(Please bear in mind some services may have more than others due to lack of volunteers at some services - they will do the best they can with the amount of Marshals they have)

Red = Tail End Charlie (DO NOT OVERTAKE THIS RIDER!)
M25 RING OF RED RIDER INFORMATION
PLEASE READ AS VITAL SAFETY INFORMATION ABOUT THE RIDE!
THE RIDEOUT TO THE M25 WILL BE LEAVING THE VARIOUS SERVICES TO GET ON THE M25 FOR APPROX 1330 HRS
****START TIMES FROM THE DIFFERENT SERVICES MAY CHANGE SLIGHTLY IF THE AMOUNT OF BIKERS IS LARGER THAN EXPECTED*****
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH FUEL FOR THE LENGTH OF MOTORWAY YOU WISH TO TRAVEL!
YOU CHOOSE YOUR START AND END POINT, ALL WE ASK IS THAT YOU STAY ON THE MOTORWAY FOR AT LEAST 45 MINS TO AN HOUR TO ENABLE EVERYONE TO GET ONTO THE MOTORWAY AND ATTEMPT TO MAKE UP THE RING - YOU GET OFF WHEN YOU CHOOSE!
THE LEAD RIDER IS A BIKER DRESSED IN HI VIZ AND WILL MAKE THEMSELVES KNOWN
DO NOT OVERTAKE YOUR LEAD RIDERS
RIDE IN SINGLE FILE ON THE M25 & DO NOT OVERTAKE THE RIDER IN FRONT
RIDE APPROX 50 MPH
(IT IS SET AT THIS SPEED FOR A REASON - IF YOU RIDE TOO FAST YOU WILL HAVE COMPLETED YOUR RUN BEFORE THE RING HAS BEEN COMPLETED!!)
USE LANE 1 BUT IF SLOWER MOVING TRAFFIC, OVERTAKE IN LANE 2, THEN RETURN TO LANE 1
- TRY TO AVOID USING LANES 3/4
YOUR GROUP MAY ENCOUNTER ANOTHER GROUP ALREADY PASSING YOUR POINT OF ENTRY ONTO THE M25 – IF SO FALL INBETWEEN THE BIKES AS BEST AS YOU CAN & THE BIKES ALREADY ON THE MOTORWAY, GIVE WAY TO THE ONCOMING BIKES!!
RIDE APPROX 4 BIKE LENGTHS AWAY FROM THE BIKE IN FRONT
BUT DO NOT RIDE DIRECTLY BEHIND THE BIKE IN FRONT – STAGGER RIDING POSITION
SPREADING OUT WILL HELP US BE ABLE TO LET THE
GROUP BEHIND CATCH UP AND HELP US MAKE THE RING
ALLOW OTHER VEHICLES TO JOIN AND LEAVE THE MOTORWAY BY PASSING THROUGH THE LINE OF BIKES
FILTERING - DO NOT FILTER UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY – I.E. MAJOR HOLD UP DUE TO TRAFFIC ACCIDENT ETC - THERE MAY BE INEXPERIENCED RIDERS IN YOUR GROUP UNABLE TO FILTER – PLEASE ADVISE LEAD RIDERS IF YOU WOULD NOT WISH TO FILTER.
IF YOU BREAK DOWN - MOVE TO HARD SHOULDER AND SIT AWAY FROM THE CARRIAGEWAY OFF YOUR BIKE AND CALL YOUR BREAKDOWN SERVICES.
ANY RIDER JOINING THE RING OF RED IS DEEMED TO BE IN CONTROL OF THEIR OWN MACHINE AT ALL TIMES, EXCLUSIVELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN ACTIONS ON THE ROAD, CONDUCT THEMSELVES WITH FULL REGARD FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY AND TRAFFIC LAWS, RIDE WITHIN THEIR OWN CAPABILITIES AT THEIR OWN PACE AND TO RESPECT THE SOLEMNITY OF THE OCCASION.
THIS IS A RIDE OF RESPECT SO PLEASE RIDE
ACCORDINGLY - thank you!
FLAGS - SAFETY NOTICE !!!!!!!!!!!
FOR ANYONE TAKING PART IN THE RING OF RED M25 OR M60 WHO IS GOING TO FIX A FLAG TO THEIR BIKE - IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU MAKE SURE IT IS FIXED VERY FIRMLY WITH CABLE TIES, WIRE OR SOME SUCH METHOD - WE DO NOT WANT ANY FLAGS COMING OFF LANDING ON THE MOTORWAY FOR OBVIOUS REASONS!
MOST OF THE SERVICES WILL HAVE SOME FLAGS FOR SALE, BUT NOT ALL WILL HAVE POLES (ONLY THURROCK, SOUTH MIMMS, COBHAM, CLACKET & FLEET) ....SO IF YOU ARE INTENDING TO BUY A FLAG AT THE SERVICES, THEN YOU NEED TO THINK ABOUT POLES AND FIXING. THE FLAGS ON SALE HAVE TWO EYELETS, ONE TOP AND ONE BOTTOM OF FLAG!
THANKS VERY MUCH
